RFD to RFD

In terms of cost for courier and handling fees as recipient I am obviously happy to pay. The question is, which RFD normally organises the courier and pays them? I need to know who to chase and who to pay! Previously it has always been straightforward but this latest rifle is proving difficult. Thanks in advance.

I would expect it to be the one from which you are purchasing the item from and from where it will be sent to your local RFD.
This has been my experience in the last 12 months.

Thank you for the prompt reply. When I’ve bought from RFD that has been the process. Pay the total and they ship to my RFD, but this is a private seller.

The sending RFD will have an account with Royal Mail/Parcel Force, they are the only carriers (with one or two limited exceptions). So they will pay for the parcel via their account. If your rifle is awol then they are the ones who can chase it up.
The process would be you send your FAC/SGC to private seller, they fill it in and send you it back. They then instruct the RFD at their end to send your chosen RFD the gun.
You get your FAC/SGC back in the post and go collect from your chosen RFD. Paying any fees that they might have charged.
So I’m the first instance you would contact the seller.

Just did this transfering a rifle from a private sale off here via a RFD. SAE went with my FAC; returned direct to me and RFD then sent me the PF invoice to pay. Paid that and then picked it up from my RFD 48 hours later.

Very, very easy.
