Rifle Bolt Holster

Hi all, can anyone on here make a Left Hand Rifle Bolt Holster preferably in Dark Havana Leather similar to the one in the photo?
I have sketched a template of the bolt onto a piece of 1/4” thick card to use as a pattern.
I have tried a few local saddlers but no joy

Not when the rifle is in a hotel safe !!

Even then. Reasonable precautions are what's called for, that's all. And unless the only keys to the hotel safe are going to be on your person you're in breach of your FAC conditions.

Always take the bolt with me if traveling by vehicle and stopped for lunch or a wee dander with the family to break up the journey. Bolt holster is safest way to transport it. You'd be in the sh... If your car was broken into and a complete rifle was taken. It's the only time I use the bolt holster though. Even if your car is stolen then better situation to be in if you've got the bolt with you? Likewise in a hotel safe..

Take it that you mean at home in the safe to not misplace it or even pick up the wrong one at silly oclock or in use on the ground, but surely if you make a pit stop to a petrol station, a newsagent or a cafe with the rifle onboard, the bolt is removed making it inoperable?

Call me an old prune, but I remove the bolt to drive 5 mins between permissions.

PS Got a Snake bolt holster and would definitely recommend.

When traveling I find leaving the bolt in the rifle makes threading a steel cable through the back of the action a tad difficult!

That's often true if the rifle's under your immediate control in the field. Less often so on a rifle-range.

When the rifle's locked in the car and you're somewhere else, then it's probably the least-safe place.

In any case the opinons we've both offered are academic - all we know is that the OP wants a LH bolt-holster, not that he actually wants to use it to help maintain the security of his rifle while he's out and about.

I agree, with a couple of exceptions. One being if your travelling and have to leave the car or, worse still, if you're involved in a car crash and it's still in your rifle.

There you go JSW. Just picked it up. It's suede-lined in Dark Havana leather. It's also ambidextrous so can accommodate a LH or RH bolt.
