Rifle lubricant

Hi everyone.

I am after recommendations for a rifle lubricant. I have so far used a combination solution (Napier, Legioa etc) but iw as wondering whether there is a dedicated product you use only for lubricating your rifle.

Many thanks!

Eezox is the best protective lubricant that I have found. All our rifles (wife and I) are blued with wooden stocks and we live in a very high humidity part of NZ.
Eezox doesn't attract dust, nor does it ever go sticky.
It did very well in salt spray tests that you can find on the Internet.

I swear by Renaissance Wax. I use it on wood, steel, leather, etc. Dries instantly, non-sticky, and leaves a beautiful sheen

Are you looking for a lubricant, or for a protective coat? Is it for the action, or for external parts and stock? Is it for when firing the rifle, or for storage?

However I wouldnt use it as a lubricant.
I don't use any lubricants on my rifles. Not a good idea in my opinion. They collect crap and grit leading to damage. Clean, dry, and a decent rub over with the wax makes me happy. Perhaps I should've clarified it was more of a preservative than a lubricant 👍

15w/40 engine oil
Isn't this or an equivalent with maybe what would now be under today's SAE rating a slightly different viscosity what John Moses Browning recommended for lubricating the recoil spring and magazine tube it slid along on his Auto-5 shotgun? The internet says her advised two drops of 30W oil spread evenly on the magazine tube. In such threads is added by some the words "of non-detergent" type. Search SAE 30 oil and you'll find half litre containers at around £5 to £7. Even at Dobbie's Garden Centres as it is a viscosity used in four stroke petrol lawnmowers it seems and some chainsaws so Stihl, Husqvarna and Makita also list it.
