Ripe For Rebarreling!

I quite agree - it could be made into something useful if in a modern cartridge. Can you put a 56mm scope on it?

This fairly useless old rifle of mine, made in 1937, has been waiting since 1939 when it came back from Africa to be converted in to at least a PRC something or other rather than the .275 Rigby (whatever that may be) inflicted on it by it's maker. Not only is it chambered in an antique cartridge but there's no provision for a bipod/training wheels, let alone an Arca rail. How archaic, the gunmaker expected the user to learn how to shoot & use natural aids when required.

The rounds might pop free of the magazine. I d sell the rifle to someone who'd appreciate it, then buy another more to your liking. When i was fitting barrels I would have refused this job . -Muir
