Road freight options for firearms export from the U.K.

Hi Folks,

I recently purchased x2 shotguns in the U.K. and am in the process of exporting them here to the Republic of Ireland (I hold a valid firearms licence for both, an important licence for both and my U.K. dealer has recieved his export permit also).

Has anyone had any recent experience with this post Brexit? Air freight is coming back extremely expensive so I’m hoping there is a road freight option out there that someone knows off?

If you can have them shipped to NI could you drive up and collect them yourself?
If you ship direct to ROI you’ll get stung for VAT+DUTY and customs charges, nip up and collect them yourself and all that goes away. Dept of Justice will give you an import licence, but you may need a visitor permit for NI
