Roe Buck Calling

Just out of interest when do people start calling for roe bucks if at all? and what callers are people using.

Thanks

You’ll call a buck on the 1st August almost a guarantee, but you need to be in its territory if you’re not all you’re gonna do is waste your time and educate them!

In my personal opinion, there is nothing finer, it’s about the only time of year that I now go stalking roe bucks.

So if I were you, I would be out and about looking for territorial scrapes now!

These are my calls, the antlered one i’ve had for more years than I care to remember, I bought that from a company in Germany

Calling in a roe buck is something I'd love to see done by someone who really knows the game. It must be thrilling when you get it right.
That’s all I did for years, go stalking with friends and I would call bucks for them, it’s a dying art nowadays

When calling, advise I was given and it is true, don't ask me how I know. "Always check over your shoulder"

BC.
I try and pick my arc well as so many times they just appear from absolutely any direction and so many times from behind.
When they make their mind up to really come it’s exhilarating but no matter how composed you can’t always account for the unexpected.
The ones in cover and you can just hear them crashing through as they come in are the worst for getting a shot but usually come the closest too.

That looks very much like the Rehblatter, made by Rottumtaler/Klaus Demmel:

They’re excellent calls.
