Roe rut possibly starting?

Up to D&G next week so hopefully something still keen to be called!

Work getting in the way of my stalking 😐

Out yesterday, all very quiet.

Watched this guy for a while, gave a few peeps on the buttalo to see his reaction.

Sweet nothing, got to 50m of him with the dog, still didn’t budge. Think he was spent.

Proper bladder full.

First time out for a fortnight on Saturday morning and rutting everywhere we went.

Had the rifle but ended up just taking pics and clips and playing with the Buttalo for some close encounters.Out last night to one place and seen 4 does, two with bucks and two without and 2 single bucks obviously looking for action but wary.Managed a fine old beast that i've seen on the cameras for 4 years and likely on his way back.

As always the rut is a fairly drawn out affair with many thinking because they can't see it then it's not on when in reality it is but not peak.I'll still be seeing plenty going on in the second week of August and the first can sometimes be peak here.

I was out yesterday morning, saw a doe and 1 kid then half hour later a buck walked the same line, only other thing I saw all day was one of last years doe kids

Out yesterday evening and saw 15+ does. Not a single buck and absolutely no sign of rutting at all.

It looked like what you’d expect AFTER the rut!

Out this morning in Cumbria and nearly got run over by a doe being chased hard by a smallish buck. Then the rain started!

Gonna have a mooch about mid day I doubt we will see much, but too us from what we've witnessed here recently It seems like were missing something.

Kind of seems like the deer are up grazing at mid-day some point and then waiting until pretty much darkness too come out (dont use thermals, so just assuming)

Annnnnnd that worked incredibly well, ended up shooting two seen probably half a dozen more.

Seen two bucks battering the crud out of each other, shot one that was tended with a doe (actually that deer I had mentioned a few days ago about chasing)

Up in D&G last week, from Wednesday till Saturday there was loads of action, sunday it was all quiet.
Guide says first week in August is usually more reliable.

Quieter today in terms of deer seen but seen the first one personally actually legitimately rutting chasing in circles.

Waited on a small buck that disappeared into rushes, but we ended up having two adult reds appearing and a calf, one of the adults being last years stag, and when they decided they didnt give two tits about us driving past them at 60 yrds an obvious a choice was made. :-|

Nice quality meat sorted for winter time now!

All go in South Glos. Bucks pursuing does and bucks coming in a long way to Cherrywood call. I called 3 bucks on Sat early evening whilst we were out on a dog walk. I watched rutting 11pm last night with thermal.

Last week on one of my areas, nothing happening.
Drove along the A303 this morning as it was getting light and plenty of deer about in the fields. Buck chasing a doe in a field next to Stonehenge, a couple of bucks in the corn marching purposefully stopping to scent every so often and nice to see several does with twin fawns.
Looking forward to getting out this evening after work.
