Roe sack dilemma

Any suggestions welcome folks. Had a Harkila roe sack years ago and hammered it with decoys and wildfowling mud etc over the years.

Thought I’d try and be more organised and buy a roe sack and I can keep my knives, rangefinder etc in it and keep carcasses cleaner.

Bought one from monarch and it’s well made. But* when I’m carrying the rifle over my shoulder , it slips off the shoulder straps on the bag.
I think there’s little hooks possibly to hold the rifle sling in place but this makes getting the rifle off for a shot difficult.

I’ve thought about leaving the bag in the car and coming back for it but if it’s miles away that makes no sense.

Any easy tips / solutions? It’s very quickly becoming a decoy bag again 😂

I don't have a roe sack, but I do have a small rucksack that I carry when stalking, and I encountered the same issue. It was a 2-part fix:
Firstly, I fitted a small chest strap to the rucksack straps, so now the rucksack stays put better.
Secondly, I swapped my wide rifle sling for a nice slim one.

Now, the sling sits nicely behind the rucksack shoulder straps, and because the rucksack straps no longer slip about the rifle stays put too.

I use an Apex Predator. It's designed to be worn around the waist, but I prefer to use it as a roe sack. Handy thing is it has loads of storage pockets and a decent liner. It's supposed to be able to take two roe, but God knows how as a big buck is a snug fit

I have the same roe sack. Do you carry muzzle up or down? I carry down (muzzle taped) and just check every so often that the sling is in the clip.

Use mine all the time and must admit never had a problem slipping.

A few solutions as mentioned above.

*Change sling
*Have a try with sling hooks - I tried them and found they dig tho.
*Change to a Monach compact roe sack which is a belt kit with accessory pouches

The Talarik Sling Hooks may help - these are larger/wider than the standard clips provided on the roe sack shoulder straps - they do give a quicker sling release:

Likewise. I rate it but have to resist the temptation to fill all the pockets or it gets a bit bulky! Handy to have the roe sack round your waste when not in use though.

Thanks folks, lots of options! Appreciate it. The sling is a niggeloh and I really rate it but will look into an alternative as a potential option. I tend to carry rifle pointed up, always have but maybe reversing this is an option. I’ve never been a fan of barrel down as it seems to get wet / catch a lot of debris.
Will also look at the wider hooks for the straps. Thanks again!
