Ruger Revolver.

I had a pal who bought one in Michigan as it was not classed as a firearm in that state a stainless old army he shot it then either dropped it in a tub of water overnight or forgot to clean it till the next day can"t remember which but it was a rust bucket when he picked it up.

One of these came up for sale locally a while back , I almost bought it , but I'm holding out for a stainless version . They're a really good revolver and very accurate . You have , IMHO , one of the best black powder revolvers ever made . I love my Remington 1858 in 44 , but the Ruger is built like a tank and generally shoot extremely well with less fuss than the replicas , nice .

If you want to replace screws because the screw slots are buggered up some ham fisted idiot who has not bothered to use a properly fitting turn screw, take the offending screw, drill a hole in a solid block of wood, or even better brass or steel so the the head is supported. The using a small ball hammer, peen the slit back closed a wee bit, then recut the slot with a very thin needle file, or thin bladed junior hacksaw. Clean up the head and reblue.

Hi ECL
Have you tried contacting Ruger directly? I have always found that American companies go out of there way to help. It would not surprise me if you did not get what you want in the post foc.
