Just wondering if any one has had the spartan gunsmith cup sunk into the s20 stock ..looking online at pics and it looks possible...maybe ditch the sling swivel and fit into there if possible....Any ideas ?? Cheers

Not a Sako but I put one in my Browning Xbolt with a synthetic stock. Fairly simple to do, pack the back with epoxy resin to give it a bit more strength.
I left the swing swivel in place and put the adapter further back. It give a bit more lateral movement

They 2 are very different beasts. The QD cups incorporate a grove into which the sprung ball bearings in the male portion of the QD slings fit. Once they are engaged the male portion they can turn but not pull out. The Spartan only has a magnet to help locate the bipod male portion and it’s not strong enough to act as a sling attachment. Remember, the standard external Spartan adapter incorporates a standard swing swivel attachment so you can have a sling with a standard at one end and a QD at the other, but it’s probably easier to just use the standards IMHO. Early Spartan adapter did have an extra feature to hold the Spartan 300 bipod in place but I wouldn’t trust that for a sling either.

On an 85, I did fit a Grovetec QD into the butt spacer I made at the bottom of spacer so you could do something similar on the S20 and use the forward side QD cups already fitted. I also fitted a Grovetec cup to the friend side of a Wideland Veil stock (same as the S30 side ones) so that could be a better possibility for underneath if you must.

If you mean can you drill a gunsmith aadapter into the front of an S20 stock like you would with a solid wood or plastic stock then I am pretty sure it’s not possible on the S20. There is a metal backbone running through the stock and you would be drilling through a thin bit of plastic before the drill hits the metal. You would then be trying to glue the adapter into whatever is left of the metal after your drill has wandered around a fair bit. I am not saying it’s impossible, but there is a high chance of knackering the stock. Probably just use a universal adapter from Spartan and either use the QD on the side of the S20 or the sling swivel on the adapter.
