Sauer 100 Fieldshoot

I've currently got a Sauer Fieldshoot in 6.5cm which I love. However it's a bit heavy and unweildy for woodland stalking. Im thinking of having the 24" barrel chopped to 20". Has anyone done the same and approx what difference did it make weight wise? Im thinking I'll lose about 100 ish fps, is that about right?

Yes you will lose 100fps.

I chopped a 308 varmint contour from 26 to 20 to make it handier. 10 years later I put a suppressor on the end and put the barreled action in a 5.5# chassis. So much for being handy .
