Sauer 505 Synchro XT

Looking to switch my Sauer 202 for a Sauer 505 Synchro XT this year. Any owners out there who are willing to offer a view on how they are performing?

Iv got a 505 in 6.5prc ,everything is extra the jeweled bolt that I thought was on the gun turned out be extra ,I like how smooth it is and trigger is good not been on lower setting as not found need , but for the price of them I think they is others out there worth looking at

What would you look at instead?

Got one in .243 and i love it.
The trigger, the cocking system, the bolt,the scope mounting system they are superb.

Ive got a 202 and 1 x 404 XT, everything about the 404 is better than the 202. So much, that I hardly use the 202 now. I know you mention 505 so id imagine they have only improved on the 404 so I'd be inclined to say go for it! The 505 is also cheaper than the 404 .. even now.

Only other rifle id personally consider would be the Blaser.

I myself and others I know think the 202 is the better rifle - and went back to the 202, main reason being the new safety and its requirement to operate it a certain way to avoid the loud “click” you get.

A 202 is a very hard act to follow!

What would you look at instead?

Steel action rifles look good , I think I was bit disappointed to be honest might be silly but once I seen bolt just plain then looked into that I just was like bloody hell ,do your homework first have look at few rifles and if u can have hold do with what makes u happy

Great thread that has guided my decision making. I loved the 404 synchro XT will look at the 505.
