SCHMIDT & BENDER scopes - build quality

I was told that all S&B glass came from the Hungarian factory, if thats true the quality will be the same.

I guess you must use quick detach mounts to take the scope off to use it as a hammer:D

Yeah, I have a blaser so the scope comes on and off very easily and always returns to zero. The Blaser is ideal for multipurpose use as well as the barrel comes off very easy and at this time of year when the weeds are growing up that is handy as I can use it for whacking down the weeds. This is especially important if I'm planning an ambush for some deer as often I would lie on a bank or something and it is good to be able to whack those weeds.

Also the Blaser bolt has two big long "leg" things on it that engage the rails on the stock and this is handy when zeroing for picking the bullets out of the soil bank or a tree to check for expansion and terminal performance.

Had hungarian 8x56 and 6x42 neither of which I could fault now have german PM2 technicaly more to it but other wise cant see a differance in quality.

well i gave my 8x56 hungarian quite a hefty clout not 20 mins a go:doh:

so i quickly nipped down the closest permission for a zero check and zero had not moved a sniff !

you never can be too careful though !

you really do have to knock these scopes HARD to knock them out , they really are the best value :D
