Hello
I am new new to centrefires. I will be taking possession of a Blaser k95 in 243 shortly. My main purpose will be occasional sika for table and some fox control.
my local gunshop is suggesting Blaser B2 1.7-10x42 . Im not familiar with turrets etc and am tending towards a simpler solution like the Schmidt and Bender 8x56.
Terrain I will be stalking on will be mixed but probably mainly in open country. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I would hazard you’d be best served by the S&B 8x56 , excellent simple scopes alternatively for the lovely little K95 maybe consider the 6x42 Schmidt ?

Thank you for your very helpful replies.
To give more info I would hope to be shooting out to 250 metres. Also is there a big difference between Swarovski Z6 1.7-10x42 and blaser B2 1.7-10x42?

There's nothing wrong with any of the suggestions, but the "Best" answer is what suits you best !

My eye's aren't the best, and I prefer the option of a higher mag scope, because I like to head, or neck shoot if it's close, or make sure I can place the shot if it's further away.

You also need to take into account the position the scope mounts on the Blaser, K95 included, and short, stubby scopes make getting good eye relief very difficult, unless you use a cantilever/rear biased mount, at the very least, I personally have to use a rail mounted scope.

Ideally, I'd suggest waiting until you get the rifle, and then offering different scopes up to it, to see how the eye relief looks,

This would also be a good, lightweight, low mount option to consider!

Some very helpful advice folks ta very much. i think i should wait for delivery of rifle and then offer different scopes upto it.
My only problem here is that the blaser dealer is offering a blaser scope . Being a newbie i'm not confident bringing the gun elsewhere for a scope.

Try and look through several scopes that fit what you’d like on the rifle different makes coatings will seem different to your eyes buy whichever suits your eyes and wallet best.
It might even be the Blaser.

You want Blaser or swaro scoping Max x42 or x44 objective bell diameter for a gun like that, with a rail mount I might add! Otherwise you might as well have bought a tikka t3

I trust you didn’t get it threaded for a moderator?

2-7x 32 why put a great big scope on what is a walkabout rifle, or see below this was put on so we could shot to 600 it’s a 243.DSC01639.jpeg

ok lets cut to the chase . what's wrong with the blaser B2 1.7-10x42??

The Blaser scopes are made by Minox, they generally get positive reviews however they’re generally not considered to be in the same league as the mainstream European manufacturer, S&B, Swaro, Khales etc.

This would also be a good, lightweight, low mount option to consider!

That wooden barrel doesn’t do the scope justice!
