Scope mounts recommendation for .308

Hello,

Could you please recommend scope mounts (50mm objective and 30mm tube) for .308 bolt action with weaver rail.
Looking for something on the budget, but not too cheap so it can work with the recoil of the rifle.
I have a measurement for a reference as pictured, but not sure if that's low or medium.
Cheers

It’ll depend on eye relief, barrel profile and how low you want to mount it. I usually put coin stacks where I want the scope to sit, then measure the stack.

Using Rusan mounts on all my scopes and no complaints. Great build quality and look the part to

I personally wouldn’t even put sportsmatch on my air rifle after having seen and tried a few,, let alone a .308

Warne Maxima. I use the standard and QDs and have found them well made and the QDs have a repeatable zero when using a NV scope with different calibres.

I also think the rail makes a massive difference with Weaver/Picatinny mounts and try to use Contessa with mine unless it’s factory fitted.

Talley Rings do a reasonable set of rings, Good thing about them is the ring bolts straight to the receiver so one only has one screwed joint between scope and rifle.
I just bought a set from them direct, ordered monday this week, delivered today, £72 including fedex shipping.
If you go to their website Browning BLR Scope Mounts (BAR / BPR) pick what you want and contact them via their contact tab on the website and they'll be on your case.
The link I've given was for my scope rings but you should be able to fathom them out.
Superb service and Fedex beats USPS hands down.
Ensure you order the correct model as shipping is around $30 a punt.

As long as the receiver holes are drilled perfectly in line!

Burris is a very good value for money. I have had an issue with one of the Tier One saddle mounts and zero help from Tier One. Fortunately, the retailer was good.

Coin thing is a great idea. Never thought of that. Thank you.

Just fitted my talley mounts, about 10mm lower than with the previous pic mount/weaver rings. Cheek fits stock now got to be OK for me.
