Scope Recommendations

Just be aware that it's a re-brand of a Delta Stryker, made in Japan by Light Optical Works

Good to know mate I didn't know that👍

Whilst fully appreciating that most of us are just recommending what we use, I would recommend a Kahles K624i given your brief.

I’ve had most of the popular Schmidt and Bender PMiis, 3-12s, 5-25s, Ultra shorts, ultra brights and eventually sold them all to be replaced with Kahles.

The main reasons for my change were 3 fold.

Firstly, Schmidts are heavy for what they are, and for the associated mag ranges (many will say this is because they are durable, I’ll caveat this shortly) I like to use mine for targets and stalking so weight is a small concern.

Secondly, many of the models apart from the much newer stuff tunnel really badly at lower mag ranges.

Thirdly and the nail in the coffin for me, was when I tried twice unsuccessfully to purchase a 5-25x56 brand new. The first one was returned with lots of black specs inside the scope. The second one had a fault with the illumination control.

I gave up after that and bought a K525i, and then a K624i and haven’t looked back.
I personally find them hugely underrated. Lovely glass and I prefer their control setup and parralax incorporated into the top turret.

I’ve seen used K624s for between £13-1500 which is a lot of scope for the money and leaves you a good chunk of change for ammo.

And if you do go for a S&B my personal experience is to go for the older stuff and live with the tunnelling as they seem better made.

Good luck with whatever you choose. Not a bad spot to be in 👍🏻

@martin-stalker there is a S&B PMII 4-16X50 and a Sightron 6-24x50 FFP in optics section of the classifieds at the moment.

Both are good scopes, and the latter will fulfil your 24x mag requirement. However, both have 'open' windage and elevation turrets. A more recent development is the locking elevation and capped or locking windage turret, both of which are good features to have.
