scope repairs in the uk?

Hiya all I’ve got an IOR scope that I’ve bought cheap as someone had tried to use the turret and sounds/feels like they’ve lost something from inside it,
Is there anybody in the uk that could possible fix this? I’ve spoken to optics warehouse as they are the uk dealer and they said the turn around with IOR is around 10-12 months and the shipping there is £90

I was sure that there was someone or a firm that was able to service/repair old High end scopes like Swarovshi, Zeiss etc I just can't remember who it was, would be grateful if someone could help me out on this one. I have a Swarovski over 30 years old and of course the factory won't deal with it.

Although, if its under warranty, I'd send it to IOR

You could try East Coast binocular repairs . They sorted out issues with my Zeiss I don’t know if they do IOR but Gary is very helpful

Not sure I’d go to Optics Warehouse. They are discount sellers of close outs, overstock and stock from struggling shops. Hardly what I’d consider the type of retailer to manage repairs. More likely they quoted you what they did in order to try and land a trade-in sale I suspect

There is a gentleman in Birmingham called Paul Burke who has done an excellent job refurbishing a number of Pecar scopes for myself and friends. £80 plus Royal Mail tracked delivery each way

I’m not sure if you guys have much knowledge of Paul, but he’s somewhere around 90, so might not be in the game these days, and not sure he does modern tech scopes

Have you removed the grub screws and pulled off the turret? There should be a couple of Philips head screws inside if my memory serves me right. Are they still present?

He did a tidy job for me on a Night Force scope last year and, whilst clearly elderly, think he is a way off of 90

I sent one back to ior in January, they have acknowledged receipt but no inkling on when it will be returned.

I think he lives in sheltered accommodation but I know he did some scopes last year

Just sorted out a scope where the target turrets had seizes. Included a nitro purge iirc

Paul Burke has done several scopes for me - Zeiss,Lisenfeld and Pecar. Turret repair on 2 of them, replace lense on the other. All came back in as new condition, highly recommend him.
Last time about a year ago.

He repaired a mates scope last year and mine two years ago

Took him two attempts last year at my mates but he got there
