Government written response to the petition , you can assume from that there will be no debate in parliament they will just push on with the consultation.

Petition: Do not merge section 1 & 2 regulations on firearms licenses

Keep section 1 firearm & section 2 shotgun licensing separate. I think this would help to protect law-abiding owners, the shooting industry, & rural communities. Policies should focus on real public safety issues without burdening responsible citizens or damaging heritage & livelihoods.

They just repeating the same opinion, there were serious failures by the Police, that part of the coroners report is repeatedly ignored.

The outcome from this is pretty much a done deal I’m thinking
Yet again the vast majority of very law abiding gun owners are getting kicked in the gonads and why?
Because of an inept licensing departments balls up - I’m pretty sure the vast majority of said license holders would have been extremely cautious about issuing a license in the first place to the fruit lupe in Plymouth let alone give it back after removal
Sooner this bunch of cloud dwelling clots are kicked out the better

Interesting what they will do later this year when the rallying call for a Dad’s Army comes on telly to defend those power stations and ports! we must use the consultation foucus only on the public safety and point out all the police and firearms licensing failures that could have stopped the Plymouth shootings. Plenty of information on the web to help when completing the consultation.

But I fear like others they will just do what they want anyway.

Just had confirmation that parliament will be discussing this after receiving enough responses to the consultation and it will be on the 23rd February
