Sharp pointy things, a magpie like obsession?

Torrential rain today in the Borders, resulted in me cleaning and oiling (long overdue) knifes I have. I appear to have collected a few over the past 10 years but it wasn’t until I located them all from various cupboards that I realised I may have a problem!

I seem to hold a penchant for spyderco knives, but can’t really remember when or why I started with them.

Anyway, thought I’d share a few photos of my collection. Some which get used regularly some which do not after finding they are perhaps not best suited to certain tasks. Large amount of these seem to be made in limited run models made in Taichung Taiwan, but the quality is first rate for factory produced knives IMO.

the first / top pictured folder, a Spyderco Pingo/vox anso collaboration, gets taken almost everywhere and does the 2nd pictured one the Spyderco PITS titanium gets similar regular use, For the simple reason these are UK legal to carry in my pocket (Although the non-stainless steel isn’t the best in the wet). My main go to “hunting knife” is the spyderco Phil Wilson collaboration fix blade, the second from last one with the green handle. Preferred Fishing blade is the third from last fix blade, the lance clinton collaboration made of lc200n steel which apparently is impervious to salt water! It seems to be holding up well from my use.

as you can tell I’m a little bored, so for those that are rained off today, or those of you with similar magpie like behaviours/ interest, here you go, hope you enjoy.

cheers DP.
