Just back from taking a new starter into our sport to the show so he could drool over some toys.
Just my view and impressions...
Smaller again than last year, sad to see, but perhaps this more space will make the show more comfy to peruse items??
Ogdens wasn't there which was a shame as I wanted to have a gander at some of their kit.
Nice to recognise some faces in our sport...Ryan Charlton, Paul Childerly, Mark Ripley, Chris Parkin, Chris Dalton, Robert Bucknell, Jake Burgess...unfortunately saw a poster of Terry Doe but thank god not in person!
More Firearms Licencing Teams made in attendance, including Surrey & Sussex...so no wasted trip like last year although still dispute their ability to make up their own rules, so great to see Depts utilising this show to help certificate holders.
Saw some great new optics from an Australian company, Zerotech, the lads on that stand are down to earth and great to talk too! Their scopes look a proper good new product on the market!
Food a plenty, didn't even look at prices of coffee etc. Many stalls missing from last year which was a shame however this was friday show hopefully more will attend tomorrow.
One niggle that I did have was the online purchasing of tickets! Surely if the doors open at 9am then you should be able to buy online tickets up to say 08.55!? Nope not on your nelly! The lad thays new to the sport I took was trying to buy online tickets at 0800 while I was driving and they'd closed ticket sales for the day! Bit harsh I reckon.
Not a totally wasted day in all!
