Hi all!
Have been member for some time. If i have a question i can usually find a reasonable answer in a search of past threads.

I’d just like an up-to date opinion on best and most suitable shooting waterproof trousers.

Mostly walked up game shooter and woodland stalker.

I use deerhunter muflon light trousers because I am a large unit and they are stretchy and very breathable!!
Maybe not the toughest in briars but good other than that.

As noted above you will not go wrong with tweed.

If you wish to go somewhat more "technical" then I am a fan of Fjallraven (added benefit that you can choose whether you want "light and breathable" or "waterproof" depending upon how you treat them) and Shooterking.

I usually go for some sort of soft shell trouser as they are breathable. A drizzle will run off them but if it's hammering it down you will get wet, but they dry super quick. Couple them with some gaters if necessary.

Any particular make. I'm usually stuck for beating trousers. The waterproof ones are horrible making me sweat and when wet they take an age to dry. And there rarely waterproof.

So, I've spent a lot of my life hill walking and mountaineering so usually used climbing brands. Only over the last couple of years have I been into stalking and have lent towards hunting brands.

I have a heavier set of Sealand ones for the winter and a light weight set for summer. This choice has been based on what has been on sale at Bushwear!

I wouldn't spend a fortune as brambles and gorse can put a hole in cheaper trousers as easily as expensive ones.

Update
I’ve been given a refund
They have apparently “ lost” over 30pairs of the venatu 2.0 with no idea where they are

I've had these for three years, really used and abused them and still going strong. Cordura panels on the front which stop bramble / thistle etc and have really good stretch to them. They are fairly silent too.

Not the most waterproof out there, but if washed with Nikwax it helps.

Not much money compared to the competition either!

I will definitely get another pair when these fail, but so far the seams and zips show no signs of giving up.
