Shotgun cleaning plastics wad

Hi, I’m looking for some advice on what’s best to help remove the melted plastic wad residue from shotgun barrels. I had some really old stuff that was great but I’ve used it all.
Whats everyone using these days. Cheers Paul

Go up a gauge on the bronze brushes. so for a 12 use a 10. What was the "stuff" you had?

000 wire wool wrapped around a bronze brush and vigorously scrubbed at end of chamber and choke end. Removes all leading and plastic.

Cheers il try it. It was hoppes from the the 90s but I tried some of there new stuff and it wasn’t the same.

Hoppes 009 used to be good for this but I think they changed the recipe

Good squirt of brake cleaner spray and a couple of swipes with a bore snake does the trick.

Cleaning rod on an electric drill and a bronze brush.

Follow up with some 0000 steel wool

Do it to all my guns once a year to give them a deep clean

I fill the barrels up with boiling water. When the barrel is hot to hold, I let the water drain out.

Acetone and wool mop, just dont let it anyware near your stock finish....

Either of the above is the way that I have always tackled plastic build up in shotgun barrels.
