Sorry if this has been asked before, I have been toying with the idea of day / night scope for use on my old remmy 700. I was all set on buying a new Pulsar Digex C50 until I saw the prices of new and second hand Sightmark Wraith 4K . But how do they compare ??. I will mostly be using the scope for Foxes 3 or 4 times a month and for the odd last light Deer Thanks

The Sightmark will have a more detailed image in daylight but will be significantly worse at dusk, need a lot more IR in darkness - and it's performance in darkness is not as good as the Pulsar
Also, the 4k is only 4k in daylight, the sensor switches to a lower resolution in darkness - which just happens to be the same as the Pulsar uses for both day and night
If you can afford it , definitely buy the Pulsar, - you won't regret it

I've got a sightmark 4k and think it is brilliant for the money.
It is brilliant in the day and night but at dusk performance drops right off so I switch to night and ir. I like the standard it too.
I can keep it switched off as it boots up so fast.
The only bad is that if you go to rechargeable AA batteries you need high capacity and for some reason one of the battery spaces is tight and I carry some small pliers in my night kit to remove the cell if needed.
Other than that I love it.

Have a 4k and it's great. Add a decent IR and fine for foxing. Good daylight image, I use it on my 17hmr for rabbiting.
I’ve had a pulsar digex and the wraith HD. I much preferred the wraith. So much easier to use and so simple to use at night. Paired with a better IR torch than the one supplied and you’re easily picking up distant eye shine and you have saved yourself a lot of money!
I have both if you would like to come and look through them see if it helps you decide
I've used a Wraith HD for a long time now and see no reason to change. Would I shoot any more foxes with anything else, no!

I'd agree daytime the wraith will provide a bit more clarity...
Although the C50 is infinitely better than the wraith in design, low light ability and night vision.
The wraith has a ridiculously small eye display and some of the worst reticules I've used to date..
Yes if you use digital mag in daytime it does degrade the image, but its strong point is as a low light and night vision scope, it has amazing balance control of the full scene too...and the eye display is huge in comparison, and reticule options lightyears ahead.
Just all depends on budget and your needs, I honestly could not use a Wraith at all, I found them terrible, like mentioned mainly due to the tiny screen and reticules... if they upgraded these they would be much better...

Can’t comment on the night time side, we were zeroing in daylight. The shop he purchased it from had sold him the version without IR! Bloody useful that was! My issue was at 50 you could barely make out bullet strikes and no chance at 100. Much prefer the scope type of these new ones compared to wraith and the fov is terrible under 100yds but it has accounted for plenty of foxes and will continue to do so.
I'm guessing that this was not a rat at 600yds

But to be honest if the moon is up you wont need it anyway
The image at last light / just after dark or a moonlit night with the C50 is amazing

The pulsar c50 is a clear winner, the pulsar platform is second to none, the dusk mode is just brilliant, I took a chance on buying one of the first before anyone had reviewed it, I have never regretted it, I owned most of the others or used them and nothing has made me change my mind, I would like to add I have never had to re zero it from the first time. As I use it most days on my jobs I still cannot believe it myself.
Being balanced technology is moving forward at a fast past with new products coming out all the time and some at very reasonable prices. I use two thermion 2 xp50s pros and a merger and they all work the same, once you can work one you can work them all. The better you get at playing with the settings for each nights different conditions the more you can appreciate how good they are.
