Small rifle primer issue

The Lee Auto Bench primer arrived yesterday and what a difference, gentle pressure on the lever and the primer is seated just below flush. There are a few plastic components that you wonder the longevity of put at £40 I will see how long it lasts

tried them all, i spent more time on my hands and knees picking primers up of the floor, {they are very expensive} then i found the K&M primer tool, a joy to use never spilt or dropped a primer since bs.

Measure primer pockets and primer to see if primer can be seated deeper if can buy ugly annealer seating die they seat primers consistently and a lot easier than hand primers

Did you uniform all your primer pockets before trying to seat your primers?

I normally use lapua brass but I had to get Norma brass for a .270 and it was surprising how much extra uniforming work it took on the primer pockets to get the primers seated properly.

I also had this problem with my .204 and Lee hand primer. I swapped to an RCBS hand primer and took more time over seating the primers and the half moon indentations stopped. Think the primers still occasionally stood proud.
Sold it a while back

I am loading up the first of my brass for my new .204 and when I am trying to seat the primers with the RCBS universal hand tool they are sitting proud of the case. Brass is brand new Norma with RWS primers. I can see the plunger is actually deforming the primer when fully closed, I will attach some pictures.
My guess is I perhaps need to clean out the primer pockets but wanted some advice before I attack some brand new brass.

I don't use the RCBS universal primer for .223 case any more, too many case flying out of the jaws. I used a Frankford Arsenal hand primer for .223 now.
Too much plastic in the Lee version. I assume the Lee bench version has the same plastic bits.
I second the motion.
