Specialist Deer and Wildlife Management Course

Just seen this new course that is being advertised.
I'd like to ask if this is seen as an equivalent, or better than a DSC1 course?
If anybody knows the curriculum I'd be interested (others too I believe) to see it.
I think the other question would be if the Police will see this as acceptable alternative to the DSC1?
Perhaps a provider of this course will come along and be able to answer.
Another advantage is that it appears to be £100 cheaper than the DCS1, and is supported by Lantra (if that makes any difference)

Perhaps another question to ask is wether you plan to go on and take your DSC2 as I believe passing thE DSC1 is a prerequisite of taking the DSC2

Good question!
Not a question just for myself by the way, but one I believe other forum members may be interested in.

I did this course earlier this year, it's not meant as replacement for DSC1 or 2, so you still need those. I would say it's more like a bolt on to them, it covers the things that will be more applicable to the professional or people wanting to make a career from wildlife management, such as contractors and syndicate managers. I would say also though that there is so much taught in the course that recreational stalkers would get a great deal of benefit from it, it definitely opened my eyes to allot of things.

Nobody needs DSC. Mite make life easier for some people and before anyone professes, trained hunter status can be gained other ways to DSC. Do the courses that interest and are helpful to you.
