Staffordshire Synthetic Stocks- Showcase

Hi All,

I was just wondering if any of you have rifles built on one of these stocks and would be willing to show a few photos, preferably with a model designation and ideally not sporter style. I’m looking mainly at their A5 clone.

Despite seemingly making a fantastic product and being very good to deal with, their website seems as though it’s built for the era of dial-up and is absolutely woeful.

Danny is a nice guy and no end of people have told him to sort his website out. I know people have tried to get him to sort it and failed.

I’ve had an A5 clone on a Blaser R93. Great stock and comparable to McMillan’s I’ve had. I haven’t seen newer stocks in carbon fibre and graphite.

I'll be visiting a friend who has one on a Remington 700 later in the week. I'll see if I can get some pictures for this thread when I'm there. I've got 2 SSS stocks myself, but they're both from some time ago, so not representative of current production (though their longevity speaks for itself, I suppose).

All I can say is it is a moulded in colour.

I actually lost a flat top SSS stock somewhere. Still drives me mad to this day

I have a lazzeroni on order for a sako 591. Danny was great to deal with so far, he’s even matching the colour profile on my McMillan that I have on ‘tother rifle.

These pictures have me salivating. It’s going to be a cracking project. Pictures will be put up on completion.

If you dont mind me asking what’s the ball park price, as i guess its not an off the shelf inlet.

I wish I new, took 2 to Danny one was swapped for the A5 to be inlet for the R93 the other brought back from SSS. I had it in the cupboard under the stairs and cleared it out and put in dining room. From that day forward it’s never been seen since. Wife swears blind she hasn’t moved it. Which I know she won’t have. We have moved house since and it didn’t turn up.

M40 style flat top. If anyone is offered one let me know I have photos of it I cry over. I just want to know what happened to it.

£640, moulded in gel coat, tri colour. Fibreglass.

This is not bedded, I’ll get Ronin to do that as he does my rifle work.

Reports are generally positive, it’ll be interesting to see it next to the McMillan. I was going to get a T3 and pop it into a PSE but it seems my 591 is worth nothing so I couldn’t just give it away.

I most certainly will

I have a sako varmint McMillan on my 75

But I did a fair amount of research on the SSS stocks with largely good opinions, with the odd dissenting view.

Danny is very attentive and quick to respond though.

They are as good as a McMillan IMHO. At least the one I had was almost identical so the A5 McMillans I’ve had.

If Danny pulled his finger out he could really do something with the company. I think he is just happy the way things are and to be fair to the guy why not.
