i am from oregon and would like to find a scenic, remote, very large area to hunt stag and possibly fallow and sika. i am not looking for luxurious accomodations - just good trophies. thanks

Remote Rugged Stalking

Sorry 308boy but Arran is hardly remote! If Davidburns wants remote I would suggest he visits Knoydart http://www.kilchoan-knoydart.com/stalking.html but I have not been there myself and cannot vouch for the size of the trophies. The Fisherfield and Letterewe estates area is also renowned for its remoteness.
One of the problems you are likely to face is that a lot of hill estates have a policy of not shooting trophy stags in an attempt to 'improve the quality of the heads'.
I would suggest that you contact Strutt & Parker http://www.struttandparker.co.uk/html/spolodgesandstalking.php
or CKD Galbraith http://www.sportinglets.co.uk/scotland.htm
who specialise in sporting lets but I warn you now, it won't be cheap!

I have access to 100 square miles on the west coast of Scotland, plus another 8000 acres which is my personal lease on the east coast. Pm if you have any questions.
