Stock Advice

I am looking to have a rifle built in .243 which will be a stalking rig with a sporter profile barrel (similar to a tikka lite) and so weight is important. On the stock I also want an adjustable cheek piece preferably in carbon fibre, however I would consider fibre glass but not wood/laminate.

There seems to be lots of stock choice if I want a heavy/varmint profile barrel but............... what I don’t want is the barrel channel looking too big for the actual barrel.

Your suggestions and experience would be most welcome.

I recently got a Macmillan A5 edge carbon, extremely light, barrel chamber was for a Sporter profile rifle. Not adjustable but the cheek is quite high so I don’t need one with a 56mm objective. If you did can get one from a few places on eBay. Really light, but very stiff and strong.

I would strongly suggest you worry about getting the right stock for you and then sort the barrel channel as a minor cosmetic tweak. You or your gunsmith could always fill an over sized channel by layering up some carbon sheets.
