Stock board pick up drawers

I'm sure there was a thread on here a few years ago about someone making a drawer system for the back of their truck, by plastic welding stock board but can't find any evidence of it. Am I imagining this or can anyone give me a pointer?
I'm aware animal transit boxes do them but can't justify their cost.

I don't know about the specific thread you're referring to, but I made a custom fit dog box using stokbord to fit my daughter's vehicle, having first had a good look at the ATB ones on their stand at the game fair one year and copied their construction as far as was practical.

(Like you, I couldn't justify their cost).

Thanks, was the welding fairly simple?

Use trailer flooring, buffalo board etc. it's phenolic faced piy. Easy to get hold of and easy to cut glue and screw or joint together. Mastic seal the edges and your not far off what you want.

I didn't use any welds. Just a bit of folding, and aluminium angle on the joins. Same way they do the dog boxes I studied for inspiration.
I posted a pic of it on here a while back, and thought that was perhaps what you remembered seeing.

I tried to do things with Stock-board It doesn't plastic weld well and its heavier on hotter in summer for dog boxes . Best thing really is Ali .. It has worked very well in the steel framed double doors on one of my buildings,
Its a horrid material to cut and Ali is far better for most jobs

Stockboard is a dream to cut to shape! Much more pleasant than slicing up sheets of aluminium.
