Storeage of Shotgun shells?

A simple Question do i have to store my Shotgun ammo in a cabinet?

i know you need a cert to buy ammo but don't need one to possess it.

is there a guideline on this i can't find or is it a grey matter?

Nothing in law that says you must,but it would be good practise to keep them under lock and key.

I have an old army ammo box that i store mine in with a padlock on it. Although there is no need to do this.

I thought all mine were locked away... until I once found a couple in the lining of my old barbour jacket.... in the security queue at Heathrow!
