Surprised!

I called in a Tesco Express for a bottle of Whisky yesterday with just my phone to pay with.
Very pleasant Asian (Fully attired) girl on till said I could save (think around £10) if I had my Club card, which I didn’t.
She immediately looked past me to a couple waiting in line to be served and asked them if they had a Club card, yes said the lady and handed it to the assistant who then scanned it, gave the card back to the owner with points added and then charged me the discounted price.
We both benifitted.
A pleasant surprise indeed.
Think it’s called initiative.
Ken.

You need to get savvy and get all of the supermarket apps for wherever you shop. Tesco basically have a two-tier pricing system, one price for clubcard holders, and another higher price for those that don't.
Morrisons do 20% off all butcher's counter steak every Saturday as long as you have their Morecard, and 20% off the fish counter every Friday. Lidl have a 10% discount on pretty much everything you spend once over £250 every calendar month, along with a host of other freebies along the way.

But yes, that shows initiative on the part of the employee. 👍

If you download the Tesco app' you'll always have your clubcard to hand. It's just a case of them scanning it on your phone 👍

Thank you KENBRO I've just ordered one. You have to then use the "Contact Us" link in the email you get sent to order an actual plastic card which they'll send out to you but, yes, now I've gone and gotten one. Always keep intending to but you gave me that extra push to get me there. Many thanks.

I do have a Tesco Club card but seldom take my wallet out with me since putting the banking app and PayPal on my phone.
Need to take up Len t dog’s suggestions.
Ken.
I have a Morrisons card too but none are my doing, wifey says ‘Take your card and get the points’ 😱

I have both Tesco's and Morrisons cards and usually just use them for essentials like Whisky and diesel.
Wifey opened both accounts because she does most of the shopping for incidentals like food and milk etc.
She got cards with my name on her account.
I used the Morrisons More card for fuel but they discontinued the points on fuel.😭
A month ago Morrisons closed their filling station for a week+ and when it reopened the faces working in there were a different colour. Not seen a white face in there since.
Must say though, the staff are very polite and even friendly, something that's been lacking in the past.
Ken.
