We have available 2 places to join an existing member on a 300acre block in Tain .
This has been a very productive block for guns that were on it in the past and expect between 12-15 deer per year (depending how much effort you want to put into it)
Lease Starts 1st April.
The price is £900 plus VAT and it is around 2 minutes drive from the A9 and about 30 minutes north of Inverness. DSC1, Insurance and FAC (Scottish Big Deer Legal Calibre) minimum requirement.
Good access to the blocks with Tarmac road straight to the edge of the wood and a a couple of tracks within it.
The block is completely surrounded by farm land and attracts a good number of SIka, Red and Roe. with the wood not being over packed with trees the wood provides plenty of gaps for shooting as the trees are all well spaced apart, along with that there is large open clear fells that seem to be very popular feeding areas,
I have been surprised at the quality of the deer that has come off this ground.
Shooting must be done within daylight hours ( 1 hour before sunrise til 1 hour after sunset in the summer months you could manage up to 22 hours of shooting time on some days) and within season,
This is a recreational shoot only, No set cull figures to worry about and you keep what you take, there is a Game dealer in the area that I can give you a number for that will give you 24hours access to his larder within 20 minutes of the ground so you can sell your deer straight to him without the worry in warmer weather.
Guests can be taken along as long as there is only one rifle used on the ground at any one time.
From what I gather the nickname for this wood was the "Golden Mile" because of the quality of deer available.
Booking is via online Calendar minimum 48 hours before attending, the calendar is managed by the guns and we only get involved if we feel someone is not being fair.
