I know it's a heavy unit at 640g and 50mm diameter, but are they worth the extra weight? The barrel is a 21mm fluted (8 flutes) barrel, so has. A little weight to it already.
I want the best sound suppression I can get and maintain accuracy. I can get a new one at a very discounted price! About half the price of the DPT Magnum I was going to order!

Used T 8's for 14 years, I like the weight as I carry mod down, yes they are heavy but I have read post after post with people trying to save a few ounces then shoot a deer which they can't carry and then spend ages trying to drag it back lol
works fine on my .270 which is the closest I have to your 7mm.
As for noise then I never hear as concentrating on the shot TBH and a 7mm has a fair bit of go in it

I like them, they reduce sound brilliantly and like Tim.243, I like a bit of weight at the muzzle, although I have switched a couple for Northstars which offer similar noise reduction, nice weight, with the added advantage of being stainless

I thought they had the price wrong when I spoke to them. But then when the rfd ordered it for me, the price was right......Brand new, but end of line so heavily discounted 👌
Fortunately for me, they had one there to fit my threads and calibre. 😍

Interesting thread, I had a look yesterday at the DM80 on my 243, I've had it 15 years, fired over 4,000 .243 rounds (mainly 99/100gr) through it and it still shows NO sign of wear to the baffles!

It weights 750gram but balances my Howa 1500 sporter nicely. I would suggest looking to see what Dave Mercer has available currently as they are built to last.

i'll give up shooting before peter jackson gets another penny of mine.

mods are 'ok' but in comparison to more modern stuff they are heavy , rust , big and don't moderate that well

Pound for pound, I don't think you will find a better noise suppressor than the T8.

I had them on all my rifles back in the day. Now, just on a 30-06. I think this is the second T8 scout (with the shorter body) .
The extra weight has pros and cons. A*se to carry around, but if you are sit and wait or high seating, no issue.

The weight helps a lot with recoil on the -06. The report is more of a 'woosh' to me. May sound different down range.
All in all, cheap and works. Just make sure you dry it and look after it.
