Im afraid we hold no cards and havent been dictating terms for quite some time.Except that it needn't have been this way. The west - Biden - chose to loose.
Britain won the second and third Afghan wars B.T.W.
There are three times the number of NATO troops at Kabul airport now than were required in the country for the last few years - Providing ANA with air cover and training. Since 2014 next to no NATO casualties.
Forward Defence, it worked in Kosovo. There are currently 70,000 troops in S. Korea, what would happen if they were pulled out? Biden conjures up 'forever war' for short-term political gain, he called this one wrong, let down the west, NATO and some of the best troops in the world, humiliated and kicked out by a shower of ignorant peasants who are dictating terms.
We hold the cards, we dictate the terms. Time support Panjshir and other areas fighting against Taliban/Pak ISI.
similar situation in vietnam in 75. Humiliated, weak, and unable to project power, gave enemies/rivals the opportunity to gain confidence, over extend themselves without an efficient industrial base and economy, USSR invaded Afghanistan..... supported some other rogues, and it bled them dry.In 2001, the Taliban were effectively smashed as a fighting force in Afghanistan around three months after the Twin Towers were attacked. I would recommend Task Force Dagger by Robin Moore on how this was achieved militarily at a tactical and operational level.
Trump was intent on bringing the troops back and the West should have seen the implications of that policy way back then. It is way too late for a G7 meeting last week to ask the President to hang on for a few more days.................
Like it or not, if America, either on its own or supported by UN mandates/NATO forces, is no longer going to act as the world's policeman, the stability of the geopolitical world balance has been destabilised.
If you were China, would you now be rubbing your hands with glee while simultaneously plotting the "annexation" of Taiwan? Knowing that the Americans will probably not react. Seems Russia did it in the Crimea with no real reaction.......
Biden completely stuffed up the withdrawal phase and he has rather overtly stuck two fingers to his "allies". In doing so, he has unfortunately shown how weak the Western powers have become without the American might.
It’s within our power to decrease china’s capital but everybody wants (or so it seems) their cheap crapS

The difference is this time, the chinese have a massive industrial base, lots of money and no need to use the US Dollar.... once they stop using it to buy oil from the middle east it will be another shockwave through the established order.
Time to be realistic about who will have influence globally in the 21st century.
Changed his tune a bit.
