At the NEC show, it did amuse me to see site security searching bags on the way in. Presumably for knives etc.
And people were walking out with knives, firearms and ammunition brought in the event.
I was hoping for them to find the boxs of 308 with me on the way in. And the argument about it.

Glad you mentioned that. The security guys always look like they're wondering what they're being paid for but going through the motions all the same.

For buying S/H rifles at a show, the summer game fair is best, but even then, most dealers bring mostly airguns and shotguns because they can be an impulse purchase for SGC holders, and FAC restrictions narrow down the pool of potential buyers meaning that every rifle they bring is one less shotgun or airgun they can put on the rack.

So, (1) watch the SD sales section, (2) save relevant searches on Gun Trader, and (3) let your local gun shops know what you are after S/H and leave your contact details (just remember to let them know once you've found what you're looking for).

Also worth checking out are (4) auctions: Holt's -especially the sealed bid sale-, Wilson55, Harper Field, etc.. Don't go on the auctioneer's description alone: request a condition report and extra photos if you really can't view in person.

And (5) definitely go to the Stalking Show to find out what you like and talk to people there. Everyone exhibiting has dedicated their working life to our sport on one way or another, so you'll never find more experience and expertise in one place.

Steel targets for stalkers to practice on. Kitchen knives to cut the venison with so quite deer stalker related.

This is what makes it so great. There is everything form training, to actual in-the-field stalking kit, to lardering, and prepping for the table. If you appreciate a good gralloching knife, why not appreciate a good kitchen knife, too?

All CIC Measurers will accept heads by post, or by arrangement at their premises. Contact individual measurers for details.

Good show,easy parking and just wander around at leisure, plenty to do and see, as for a rifle set up, they don't have a service history, better going for a new lower end than an inflated price because the brand, Winchester xpr was my last buy and new was cheaper than a 2nd hand tikka
