Tier One tactical bipod leg extensions

Does anyone use these, I'd be interested to hear if there's any loss in stability..?

I've always used a Harris 9-13 which whilst on foot is perfect. If shooting off the bonnet, or the roof of the disco, even at the lower setting its too high because I'm a short arse.!

So I was thinking about buying the tier one 180mm with leg extensions, does anyone have any field experience please

I have the exact set up you describe on my foxing rifle, I‘ve never had any loss in stability.
Used several genuine Harris’s for decades, which are still going strong being used by my son. Then bought an Atlas about 10 -12 years ago which is a really good bipod especially with the 45 degree leg option and getting really low, then about two years ago I got the T1, and have stuck with it ever since, prefer it over Atlas.
All my foxing is done on foot where the carbon fibre is a plus and quick & silent to deploy and adjust, my one gripe though with the T1 is that that the legs do not retain their frictioness (If that’s a word) I resolve this by using loctite on the leg bolts, customer service from T1 has been superb when I had a spring fail.
HTH.

Very helpful thank you. I payed a local gun shop a visit today to handle the product and I was very happy with the build quality. Unfortunately they didn't have the leg extensions in stock so I wasn't able to see for myself. I was worried due the the length there might be a little play which would transfer to loss of stability but I'm pleased to hear what you've had to say.

I didn't think they'd offer anything sub standard but I didn't want to commit to order until I heard from someone with field experience

Thanks for the input

Do your legs extend when you fire it off sticks? If I stalk with it on and take a shot the legs extend by one notch. Every shot is a both until full extension.
Using it as a bipod is fine. Just seems a little poor for the cost of them.
Tier one did replace the Picatinny release as it wasn't locking for free. So they are good in that respect.

Gm81, Thats a new one on me, I’ve certainly never had that issue and I use mine off my sticks more, probably 3:1 than from the bipod itself. That would drive me nuts and I wouldn’t be happy either.

My permanent set up position is one notch down from leg fully up with the leg extensions on, even then I get no random leg movements. What cartridge are you using?

I am using it on a 308 that is moderated. My friend uses a 6.5x47 and his does it to. He has the longer leg option.
I took it back to tier one and they replaced the quick release as it didn't lock. It's a new style now. I also told them about the legs and they said they will look at it. But it still does the same. Quick release was sorted though.
I am lucky as it extends it doesn't touch the mod and foul.
If you get stuck into a few deer, it ends up full extension.
I wouldn't buy another. I'd try an atlas.
