Tikka t3 243 100gn reloads

Hi I’ve been trying to develop a good 100gn deer legal load in my tikka t3 with 20 inch barrel.
lapua cases and fed 210 primers
So far I’ve tried

Hornady interlock 100gn BTSP with viht n140 ( shotgun like accuracy)

Sierra 100gn pro hunters with reloader 19 ( some good accuracy points but I think my barrel is to short to get the best muzzle velocity out of this powder)

Any hint or tip on where to start, I’m thinking maybe try some viht n160 with the Sierra pro hunters.

all loads will be worked up as everyone rifle is different

Viht N160 with 100gr Pro Hunter or Gameking will work well.

You don't mention cartridge overall length.

I'd make sure to seat the bullets to book length, jump can often help more than hinder.

Is N140 rather fast for 100gr .243 loads? I'm not sure I've ever seen data for anything much slower than N160.

Viht N160 and a flat based bullet works in mine, doesn’t like the boat tailed ones.

I'd make sure to seat the bullets to book length, jump can often help more than hinder.

Sierra were set at 2.650 with reloader 19 this was straight from the Sierra manual.

You could try v160 and 95g v max , I don’t suppose 5g would make a massive difference

Rs 60 / rl17 will get you the required velocity out of a 20 inch barrel . I get just shy of 3000fps with a 100 grain sierra ph.

Been taping a few loads in pmax but that seems to be struggling to come up with a decent starting point to achieve 1700ftlb with 100gn and good load density

Measured my lapua case capacity 54.2 grains of water on average

So got some viht n160 and loaded a few rounds been out today for a play, this is what I’ve managed to achieve with MY RIFLE . I’m quite happy with the 42gn group, 43 was looking good but user error pulled the last shot.

42gr worked well in another Tikka T3 I know of. Healthy velocity too, should be pushing around 3000fps.

If the 43 grain was a genuine flyer id Shoot 42.5 to 43.5 ,it looks to be a stabler load compared to 42 grain.
