Hi everyone

Hoping to pick up a tikka t3 hunter next week in .308 (original t3 model) and was just wondering if anyone has the same gun and has a favourite factory bullet they like to use.
Thanks in advance

Tried a few in my T3x from Winchester and a few others. It seemed to like the Sako ammunition. Therefore Ive always used Sako Super Hammerhead 150gn or their copper equivalent (although the price of these is eye watering!)

Always ended up where I wanted them too. Around £39 for 20 cartridges.

I use a 1 in 11 twist T3X if of any use it likes the following ammunition:

Federal Classic 150gr sp - about 0.8" lead soft point

SAKO ttsx 168gr -about 0.5" if you are into non-lead. Copper solid.

However I now stick to 136gr Geco Zero, it is non toxic and gives groups about 1" average however it's terminal effects have been fantastic compared to both the above, so I have stuck with it. Twin tin core, copper jacketed with large hollow point.

Federal Powershock work well in my T3 308, as does the Federal copper ammo.

I tried the Winchester Extremepoint copper ammo in mine and it would not group at all.

Had my T3 in .308 since 2013. It will shoot anything to 1”. I’ve found it as a rule prefers bullets over 150gr. For normal UK deer distances anything will do.

Some old cheap S & B 180 would cloverleaf at 100m quite reliably.

You’ll need to buy a few brands and see what groups and what performs well in terms of expansion.

Yes. Tikkas like Sako, and also Sierra Prohunters (RN 150gn & 180gn)

My Tikka T3x loves most things

Hornady SST in 150 and 165gr
Hornady American Whitetail 150
Federal SP 150gr and Federal Nosler BT 150gr
Since starting to reload 4 years ago kept the brass from all of the above and found it loves
Nosler Bt 125gr
Barnes TTSX 130gr
Virtus Merlin 140gr
Virtus Osprey 125gr
