Well that’s another five years gone time to put in the renewal I’ve been dredging this as we have now gone digital and application are now done on line ,now I’m over sixty I can just about find my way round this I pad but I knew it was not going to end well , so the covering letter mentioned it should take 20 minutes to complete the application hm so here goes it was when I got to page six that I found out I had to upload the medical report What medical report .So downloaded that form and delivered it to the medical centre four days later they sent me an invoice the sum of £50 very happy with that so walked round and paid it a week later message received the report was completed and needed collecting RESULT .Tonight I thought I would tackle the task in hand 20 minutes soon turned into three hours they even needed the BS number on the cabinet, the problems I had was when you have to take a photo of yourself the upload it The image had to be cropped to fit in the box ,also uploading the medical report was a bit of a nightmare I managed to get there in the end if your new to this once you start you can not leave it the whole thing has to be done in one sitting or you start from the beginning

My experience was very much the same it probably took 3 or more attempts. But once I got sorted I think it's a good system the next renewal I'm sure will be a lot easier. I have since had a variation that was really easy. I'm with the Thames valley Police who are you with?

46 pages here, of complete BS. Then no one speaks to you for 10 yrs, unless you’re a dealer then it’s every year.
This is how stupid they are, my bosses license comes up for renewal, I am a referee,
Q. Has he intimidated you into being a reference - no
Q . Do you know his family - yea
Q. Is he a fit and proper person - yes, you just did his dealers license ? We know that but this is for personal firearms. So you think he is ok to purchase and pay for our shop stock (300 plus firearms in stock at anytime) which technically are his, and he can use anytime, but not sure if he is ok for a private license ?

you think in this day and age the UK would have a national FAC database. But, not only is the owner, but the firearm. I think Germany do this so the has a ‘ticket’ and a owner.
but very much doubt that would happen as cost and ignorance.

Mine cabinets are not BS marked. They were bespoke made in 1988 or thereabouts and were passed as suitable in 1998 for s5 storage had I wished to apply for such.

when I renewed mine, i contacted firearms dept, told them I only have an I phone, I had someone download and print forms, I filled them, when I finally had my medical report back, took photos on I phone, sent them as an attachment by e mail, it was accepted, bit of a ball ache, but thanks NWP.
