This hunt is the village's traditional hunt, where you don't focus on the The amount of animals but on the social aspect.
It ends in the village community center, where a large number of non-hunters also come for a communal dinner, Therefore 92 people for dinner.
The food for such an event is traditional in South Jutland consists of yellow pea soup, with potatoes, pork sausages, boiled pork and ham.

Ammunition is typically steel shot size 3 (3.5mm) normally we dont use smaller shot for deer but shotsize up to max. 4mm is allowed but the large shot are rarely used.

What range were the roe shot at and does steel kill them cleanly ?
with steel the maximum distance is around 15-17 meters. With bismuth or tungsten 20-22 meters.
You often experience that deer "bounce" a little when they are shot with steel. With bismuth/tungsten, it is like when it was allowed to use lead, which means they are stone dead in the blast.

Since lead has been banned in this country for more than 30 years, and bismuth/tungsten has been very expensive, most people here only know the effect of steel shot and are often surprised when they see how deer fall when shot with bismuth.
Personally, I don't shoot deer with steel, and pay the extra cost of bismuth/tungsten when the chance of deer is high, let them run when they are showing up as a suprize and the gun is full of steel.
