Triggertech Duty 2 Stage or Geissele G2S trigger, which is recommended for .22LR Semi Auto

I've just bought a Kriss DMK Defiance.22 RF semi auto AR-15.

The trigger is pretty poor

The lower is the fabled "Milspec" so I can fit a range of triggers. I want a 2 stage trigger due to personal preference

I'm on a budget, I've narrowed it down to the Triggertech Duty 2 stage 3.5 lb or the Geissele G2S.

The Geissele is advertised with a 4.5lb break.

I'm concerned about light primer strikes, I experience them a lot with other semi autos, my feeling is the Geissele would give a harder strike and hence be more reliable.

Does anyone have experience with these triggers?

Many thanks

I'd buy neither and pick up another Larue MBT-2S from Marlin Spares for £160, it's as good a trigger as a G$ SSA-E at less than half the price. It's incredibly crisp, and has a super tactile reset.

IMO cartridge triggers like the TT are a bad idea in an AR15 because you need anti-walk pins which ruin the lines of the lower.

Hello, thank you for that much appreciated.
I'll take a look at them.
I'm not totally sold on the cartridge triggers either, I'd been thinking about their use in a .22RF and I'm concerned about unburnt powder etc. getting into the cartridge and being a sod to clean out compared to the milspec design triggers.

That is a pain! That being said, Jim at Marlin Spares is good at getting back orders in, so you shouldn't have to wait too long.

As far as cleaning goes, yes the lower gets incredibly filthy with rimfire ammo, especially if you slap a suppressor on the rifle!

My 12" barrelled AR runs super clean with a bolt weight until I install the suppressor, and then it gets super gross.

I ran the Kriss properly and the standard trigger was surprisingly usable. Indeed it was complemented by a Lantac owner as being better than theirs after tuning.
I'm going to hold off for a bit and see how I feel after more use. I will upgrade eventually and the La Rue does look like a good option. Thanks again for your comment, much appreciated 👍🏻

Thank you, I bought the LaRue 👍🏻 It's a massive improvement over the stock trigger.

Glad you like it! You'll have to show it to your friends with Lantac triggers and see what they make of it compared to the default Kriss trigger 😬

As far as cleaning goes, I've thoroughly greased my trigger up and then haven't touched it in ~1000 rounds, still running beautifully.
