Trophy in velvet

Just a thought chaps, Red stags are almost upon us again .
If one has the good fortune to take a good stag whilst still in velvet can it be preserved as a trophy in the normal way ?. Any special tips ? .

Not ever seen any information on this so just interested.

There is no problem at this time of years as the velvet will be dead and the bone underneath should be hard.I seen a very large stag on Saturday and he was clean.
