Trousers

They are all crap. I have had all of the major brands and the quality varies. My original deer hunter Rams lasted the longest. Buy on offer and change when they leak too much.

Yes. I now wear them all the time for everything. I think I bought 5 pairs for 18 quid each. Amazing value for Swedish kit. The Arktis are good as well and more robust, but they are 70 quid a pair. But they do have annoying side fastening. Put some Nikiwash on them initially as well.

Pinewood are lighter than Arktis and need some layering if not warm weather. Both appear breathable.

Do you have a link for the Pinewood trousers Lambic? I had a quick look on amazon but cant seen them but cant seem to see them.

I use the pinewood trousers for driven days, and never had any water problem with them. Thermals underneath when cold.

I bought the Himilaya 4 to 5 months ago I think, so no direct link now. But the seller is "Pinewood". I assume it is the company themselves clearing out old stock perhaps. If they have a lot of stock the price is low, hence the 18 quid, but when the stock level gets lower they bump the price up to 25 quid.

I bought a pair of Lapland extreme a few weeks ago and had to pay 29 quid. Seller was " Pinewood" again.

Price seems highly variable depending on size, colour and time. Worth checking every few weeks and cycling though all combinations

Perfect thanks for your Help.

I had a look on Amazon and so on earlier on and Pinewood Lapland/Himilaya are roughly £70-£100 but I will keep and eye out for them coming down in price

Hi there I have been using Seeland keeper trousers which are the right balance of cost performance and comfort IMHO (they certainly beat the soggy years spent in issue DPM!)

These work for me although I really like the Shooterking lightweight ones I have, so their waterproof ones may be good too, although I haven't tried them yet

get yourself to the nearest Decathlon! great stuff, cheap, durable, breathable, and you know what, actually waterproof too! bought loads of the stuff over the years and the Harkila's are the one's not getting used as they're too hot when you're really on the move, and you just can't trust them not to leak, plus all the 'features' do nothing but get in the way..material is also too noisy on pine needles and heather, which is a problem from woods to hill.

hi
sort of really depends on budget really use harkila pro hunters myself for stalking very happy with them but don't use them for anything else don't think they'd last long beating
best of luck

Have had a pair of pro hunters now for 3 seasons in all weathers and found them really comfortable, you gets what you pay for.

Bought a pair of Brit army quilted cold weather things with zips up each side, slapped on half a tin of Barbour wax and got a season beating out of them for less than a tenner. Spent more but not sure I have done better. The person who comes up with the perfect trousers will make a fortune.
