I'm not convinced the OP image is Turkey Oak. The leave can be very different from tree to tree and they do hybrid.
To be sure look for hairy acorns and buds.

Looks more like Red Oak.

Ah just when I was feeling smug about preaching the ID to my mate ha ha

I will have to wait till spring for the leaves etc but I will do as Its a hanging tree and there will be more deer strung up under it for a few more months.

The leaves look like Quercus Rubra (Red Oak) but when fallen they look a little too brown and the leaf is very heavily 'incised'. Will keep looking.

Red oak was my first thought from the original tree photo, branching habit didn't appear right. truecrafts picture looks similar To turkey oaks I have seen a photo detailing the buds would help. Tricky stuff this tree id
