TV program makers and firearms

I do wish these people would carry out at least basic research when it comes to firearms.

Series I'm watching (Coldwater) has just shown a red stag being shot with no backstop, no clear shot, and then dumped at the local pub ungralloched. Don't even let me start on firearm safety.

This garbage does nothing to promote shooting to the general public

why would a production crew know about firearms and laws, when people on here have no idea about what a bullet is or if you can shoot hares at night.
That's a fair point 🤔 However, with the money spent on producing these programs you'd have thought that the armourer would have half a clue

with the money spent on an fac, rifle, scope, moderator, sling, sticks, boots, ammo, etc the same should apply.
do you even need an amourer for a toy gun?

Hello, You have to wonder why they thought this part of filming with rifles and shot deer was realy needed in the drama, I thought it was going to be worth watching but not finding it that interesting, They are good actors and charactors but could have been written better, also there is the same lady actor in Coldwater and The Guest ????

A little to one side here, but following the root of the thread, I watched a film on prime last night, the whole thing in Russian, but because the effects people had done a full on job I stuck it out, brilliant depiction of Russian tank against German tank battles, with full infantry support on both sides, all the weapons were genuine looking with correct use of, and effects ... some of, (A lot of) the armour was real too.

Pretty disappointing all round, really. I thought. Apart from Eve Myles talking about milf porn 😆😆

Why do you think that any media personality wants to portray shooters in a positive light?

We are evil, baby-killing demons, driven mad by mere ownership of our “high-powered magnum assault rifles.”

With respect to Charlie Kirk and his family, But I take issue with their media stating the shooter would be highly trained to be able to make a 130 metre shot, ?, and the hype over "High Power " rifles.

The actor runs away into the woods with the what looks like an Enfield by so doing breaking the estate rifle clause and one of the other hunters all dressed in jeans etc was supposed to be a police officer egh??????

I think there a job for someone here - Just like films now have intimacy coaches, you could set up as a guns and firearms realism coach.

Directors don't have a clue.. I heard of a landowner who got asked to be an extra when they were filming driven grouse. They asked him to bring a loader, so he brought his keeper. At the last minute the director asked the two to swap places because his loader was taller and the gun stormed off in a huff!

Wouldn't be a bad wee job, would it?

Favourite has to be the pump action shotgun. I'm not sure I have ever seen a cartridge ejected by one in a film even though they pump it many times.

Or the miracle 50 round handgun magazines. That allow the hero to immediately know how many rounds he has left by looking at the top one 🤔😆

And the recoilless nature of almost every firearm they use.
