UK monolithic bullet manufactures

As promised an update finally.
Went with the standard 112gr projectiles as Richard recommended and tested powder charges with powder he recommended.

Settled on a load producing 2773fps shooting sub half moa groups.

Very pleased and look forward to updating you once again when I’ve put holes in something more animated than a piece of paper.

We couldn't get Barnes to group in my rifle so @Selous tried Yewtree for me and, like most I have found them to be excellent

Also heard good things about Vertus but not tried them

Have to say I have found expansion of the 6.5s at that sort of speed nowhere near as good as the .284 at 3100 fps.

Everything has died but exits small and damage minimal. I’m going to change powders to get them over the magic 3000 fps mark.

I’ve just pushed my 6.5x55 upto 3150 and the yew tree are step stoppers now!! Head and neck shoot the close ones though!

That’s what speed I’m hoping to do with Staball 6.5.

I really like the yew tree in .284 and in .264 at 2850 fps they have been great in the summer months, but on cold, frosty mornings there’s been a marked difference in expansion.
