venison slow cooker receipes ?

Just got a slow cooker of groupon for £20
going to try it this weekend so i'm after a very simple receipe for a red roast
also how much water/stock goes in ? Do i cover the roast etc
do vegetables need to be cooked seperately ??
i have googled the life out of this subject but all i get are weird /fancy american receipes !
i ordered a slow cooker receipe book from amazon but it hasnt arrived yet !
any advice appreciated

A bottle of red wine all the veg you like and a pint or two of beef stock and just leave it for 6 to 8 hours mmm.
