Im new to the stalking world and wondered: why do some stalking rifles have ventilated fore-ends? Is heat dissipation really an issue when stalking/zeroing with a rifle? how many rounds do you have to fire for heat dissipation to become an issue?

many thanks jake

You may want to vent a .50 cal I think that would be acceptable ! Mind you there would not be much for the table afterwards !
If you are doing the job right heat dissipation is the last of your worries !! Concentrate on the long drag out!! therin is a bigger problem!
cheers Trapper.
