Screwing them on and off is a regular PITA. Their surface area is very small compared to a patch and getting a barrel dry is very material and time consuming.
I feel that only people who have never used good patches before are jumping on this train.
The shoot-through felt pellets for air rifles are a clever thing though.
I can't disagree with you there Sir.
While I like the system I still use the old fashioned tight fitting 4x2 flannelette patch on a jag to properly clean a barrel.

I find they are useful for deploying abrasives such as JB bore paste to shift burned on hard carbon that solvents and phosphor bronze brushes can't deal with.
