Viht N133 in 22.250

Hi,

Is anybody using Viht N133 in your 22.250's? I use it in my .222 and a mate is getting a 22.250, just wanted to hear if people use it as the reloading manual i have (nosler) doesn't list it but does list powders of a similar burn rate? If we can use some of the same components it makes life easier for both.

Will be loading with 52gr AMAX and 55gr Soft Points, any help advice appreciated

Cheers

Viht show a 51gn bullet load, you will be ok with this data for the 52gn bullet as long as you work up from the start load as per normal practise, the 55's may be a problem as the case fill ratio is near 80% for the 51gn bullet.

Have checked up the Speer , Hornaday and Lyman manuals and none of the list Viht N133 so looks like you will have to get another powder

Thanks guys, I was thinking N140 for general use with the 22.250 also, as you say Sauer90 Viht lists it for 51gr but I think probably better to stick to a single powder for this one. I did a trawl on the internet and found some guys claiming N133 works like a dream, based on all your feedback and what the manuals are listing I think I'll steer clear!!

Cheers

Never Never use a load "some guy" has posted on the web, always get your info from a loading manual or makers site

Thanks Ray, I appreciate your comment, but lets be clear, "I would never use that info as a reference load"

Hence my asking on here and referring to my reloading manuals, my original post stated that some manuals list powder very close to N133 in burn rate, I wondered if anybody had used this powder or if there was a reason it was excluded.

Cheers

Nelly it was clear that you would not use that info , was just enforcing the safety aspects of loading for some of the less experienced on here (including me)

some of the questions and answers i have seen on here scare the bejesus out of me
cheers

Yep I get your point Ray, my post wasn't meant to read like that on reflection, I was agreeing with you and hopefully stating the obvious.

Cheers

Ray, have a word with Phil. He and Robbie worked up a load.
He was using N133 behind 35gr V Max.
I dont know his load data and even if I did I wouldn't be posting it but it is a great load very flat and very fast.
